The Fitness Tracker
dashboard shows different fitness related metrics for each day. The personal
data was taken from Google Fit app in csv format. Although the data was
"almost" clean, I had to create few more columns as data was in
metric system (kg and meters). I had very few data ranging from 3rd March
2017 till Sept 2017.
Metrics shown in
dashboard.
- Walking Duration in minutes
- Running duration in minutes
- Distance in miles and feet
- Calories
- Steps
If Walking duration is
more than 120 minutes, then it will show time in hours otherwise minutes. If
distance covered is smaller than 1 mile, I showed the distance in feet
otherwise miles.
It makes sense if you
walk and run less, you will cover less distance so its not good idea to low
numbers in miles.
Donut Chart shows
both total steps taken and remaining steps. You can set the Goal for steps in
the parameter. By default, it is 7000 steps
Remaining steps are
calculated by difference in Goal Steps and Total Steps Taken. If total Steps
reach the goal, chart will show if I have met the goal, otherwise it shows the
remaining steps to be taken to reach the threshold.
Left bottom chart shows change in recorded weight and the right bottom chart shows how much calories were burnt everyday. Average calories is also shown as a reference line.
Note:
- Calories includes calories burned both actively and while at rest
- Steps includes both walking and running steps
